Funding information and amounts
Funding amounts are based on credit hours. Full-time students with 18 credit hours or more will receive $5000.00 and part-time students will receive $250.00 per credit hour ( example: if taking one course that is 3 credit hours the funding amount will be $750.00)
Eligibility:
- You are a registered Red River citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation (or are in the process of receiving your citizenship and have a letter from our Central Registry Office confirming you have been verified).
- You graduated from high school in 2025 or earlier.
- You are accepted and enrolled full-time or part-time, in-province or out-of-province, in a University or College that is accredited, and you are enrolled in a degree program.
- Have fully completed and provided all necessary documents as indicated on the online application form to be eligible for financial assistance.
- Complete an online self-directed Metis Cultural and Heritage course. The link will be provided to you once your application has been submitted.
- The Louis Riel Bursary is a requirement for fall/winter applications, but it is not a requirement for the spring/summer application. (Brandon Students - Please note the LRB deadline for your school is June 1st, 2025)
